Now that Wedding fever has finally started to fade in the United Kingdom with the wedding of Prince Harry to Megan Markle in 2018 we can start to look back on that amazing day in the castle of Windsor and get some of those answers about the ceremony that we were all dying to know about just a few months ago. If you’re still stuck for a venue and can’t afford Windsor Castle then a Gloucester Hotel Wedding Venue found at links like www.hatton-court.co.uk/gloucester-cotswolds-weddings might be right up your street instead. Have a look at for some inspirational ideas.
Sadly, it was on a Saturday, so no bank holiday for us. Harry is not really a candidate for the throne as he has his Dad Charles, Brother William (who was the best man naturally! Imagine having the future King as the best man amazing) and then Williams adorable little ones George, Charlotte and Louis all in front of him. Not that he seems that bothered.
The question being asked the most was what type of dress would Megan wear? It was a modern number and not like the full armed lace that Kate Middleton had gone for, this was a Givenchy creation of pure white and satin. It had exposed shoulders and a really big veil and train. That was the traditional nod that everyone liked. Certainly, kept the Queen happy. Should Megan have worn white? She had been married before. It was nice to see her in the white as it really doesn’t matter about her past at all does it?
Harry went with what we all thought he would. He was resplendent in the dress uniform of his regiment the Household Cavalry. This was a nice black item with a tidy red stripe down the trouser legs and some ruffles on the front of the tunic. I think he must have been a bit hot in it to be honest as the weather could not have been better with warm sunshine and hardly a cloud in the sky.
It was wondered who the page boys and flower girls would be. And it was cuteness overload as the Prince George and Princess Charlotte were indeed part of the show. And didn’t they almost steal it. The beautiful young royals made quite the impact. Charlotte in a pretty summer dress and George in a copy of his uncles Dress uniform. The other page boy and flower girls were made up of Meghan’s friends children and Harry’s God children. They all made a lovely picture in the similar summer dress and copies of the dress uniforms. No medal for them though, yet.
The event was watched by a reported 18 million live on TV and thousands lining the streets to see the happy couple parade through the streets of Windsor thanking the well wishes as they past. A lovely day for all.
